Astra电磁技术公司选择AWR为技术与商务合作伙伴Microwave Office Design Suite To Be Used
for Standard Product and Out-Sourcing Development EL SEGUNDO, Calif. —
July 11, 2005 — Applied Wave Research, Inc. (AWR?), a leading provider of high-frequency
electronic design automation (EDA) tools, today announced a broad technology and
marketing agreement with Astra Microelectronics Technology, Ltd., (AMTL) Hyderabad,
India. AMTL will deploy AWR's Microwave Office? software in both the company's
new monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) design center as well as into
Astra Microwave Products, Ltd. (AMPL), the parent company of AMTL, microwave product
design center. The software will be used to design ultra low-noise microwave and
millimeter wave ICs that meet the stringent specifications of Indian and international
customers as well as microwave components used in traditional microwave applications.
In addition, AMTL and AWR will jointly offer access to AMTL's customer design
services. AMPL is a worldwide leader in providing radio-frequency (RF)
and microwave solutions for communication systems used in satellite communications,
radiometry, radar, and remote sensing. "We were attracted to AWR by
the performance and ease-of-use of their design solutions," said Ramanan
Ramamurti, AMTL's chief operating officer. "When we began working with AWR
support personnel, we were pleasantly surprised at the level of service and commitment
to ensuring Astra's success. We instantly recognized that this was the sort of
"win-win" situation that makes for a successful relationship and wanted
to broaden ours with AWR. We are already realizing first pass success in our IC
designs." "Current AWR customers often ask us for help in augmenting
their design teams with AWR-savvy custom design services or intellectual property,"
said James Spoto, AWR president and CEO. "Our relationship with Astra has
provided us with another opportunity to enhance our ability to partner with customers
and provide them with the customized service and support they need to be successful."
